GÜLERMAK Poland – digital tools for infrastructure projects
GÜLERMAK Polska is a general contractor that implements global civil and industrial infrastructure projects. The company was established in 1958, but only in the last decade it has completed over 300 km of tunnels, 120 underground metro stations, and 1,300 km of railway lines in Turkey, India, the United Arab Emirates, Sweden and Poland.
In January 2020, the pilot implementation of the application began as part of the construction of the second metro line in Warsaw. The first users from the GÜLERMAK Polska team started using the Hustro application!
The purpose of the implementation was to check how the application would cope with difficult conditions and whether it would actually be able to enable team communication in a large construction project consisting of several dozen construction sites. Are the functions prepared in the application valuable and support the work of engineers and construction managers on construction sites?
The introduction of the application to the construction site resulted in a significant increase in the detection of non-conformities by 300%. Thanks to the quick and precise registration of defects, we saw which works and circumstances were the most problematic. Today it is difficult to imagine a construction site without a quality control system.
Wojciech Śleszyński
Quality Director at GÜLERMAK Polska
While testing the application, the GÜLERMAK team regularly provided us with comments on the application’s functions, taking into account the executive and management perspective. The information collected in this way formed the basis for design work and further development of the system.
Due to the scale of operation, a lot is happening in infrastructure projects. Here, the key is to quickly detect and eliminate potential threats. The registration and communication process must be efficient and thanks to the Hustro application this is possible. Moreover, I spend much less time on reporting, I can prepare many documents automatically.
Magda Piechocka
Occupational Health and Safety Manager at GÜLERMAK Polska
The pilot implementation covered the quality, health and safety and environmental processes. After 12 months of testing the application, a decision was made to introduce the application as part of subsequent construction projects: construction of the metro in Izmir, construction of the S52 and S7 expressways in Krakow.
Working on one system helped us standardize processes and documents, good practices from one project to another are much easier to introduce when there is a solid foundation and there is no need to start everything from scratch, it actually increases operational efficiency.
